Advertising Standards
All advertisements on Virepedia must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including standards for truthfulness, decency, and non-discrimination. We reserve the right to reject or remove any ad that conflicts with our values or could mislead readers.
Sponsored Content Labelling
Sponsored content, including native advertising and paid posts, is clearly labelled with tags such as ‘Sponsored’, ‘Paid Content’, or ‘Advertising’. These labels are prominent and visible before the content is read. Sponsored content is produced by the advertiser or a third party, not by the Virepedia editorial team, and does not reflect editorial opinions.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some articles may contain affiliate links, through which Virepedia may earn a commission on purchases. These links are always disclosed clearly, often with a statement such as: ‘We may earn a commission if you purchase through links on this page.’ Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial coverage or product recommendations.
Separation from Editorial Decisions
Advertisers, sponsors, and affiliates have no input into editorial decisions, content topics, or the tone of articles. The editorial team operates independently. No commercial partner is guaranteed editorial coverage in exchange for payment.
Unacceptable Ad Categories
We do not accept advertisements for: adult or sexually explicit content, gambling, illegal substances, misleading health claims, or political campaigning. We also prohibit ads that contain deceptive or harmful claims. We review all advertisements before publication.
Partnership Review Process
All advertising and sponsorship partnerships are reviewed by our commercial team to ensure compliance with our policies. We require transparency from partners about the nature of their products and services. Partnerships are terminated if they fail to meet our standards.
Advertiser Independence
No advertiser, sponsor, or affiliate has the right to influence editorial content, article placement, or coverage decisions. If a conflict arises, editorial independence takes precedence. Readers can report concerns about advertising to advertising@virepedia.org.
Review & Update Cadence
This policy is reviewed quarterly by the commercial team in coordination with the editorial team. The most recent review was on 10 June 2026. Changes are communicated via our Ownership and Funding page.
Reporting Problematic Ads
If you encounter an advertisement that appears misleading, inappropriate, or violates our standards, please report it to advertising@virepedia.org. We investigate all reports within 48 hours and take corrective action, including removal if necessary.
Programmatic & AI-Generated Ads
Programmatic advertisements are subject to the same standards as direct ads. AI-generated ad content is reviewed by our commercial team before serving. For more on how we handle AI, see our AI Disclosure.
Affiliate Link Practices
Affiliate links are used sparingly and only in articles where they provide clear value to readers. They are always accompanied by a disclosure statement. No affiliate relationship influences editorial content, as outlined in our Ethics Policy.
