Corrections Policy

We are committed to transparency and accountability. When errors occur, we correct them promptly and clearly communicate what changed and why.

Definition of a Correction

A correction is issued for any factual error that misleads or materially alters the reader’s understanding. Minor typos that do not affect meaning are fixed silently.

How to Report an Error

Readers can report errors by emailing corrections@virepedia.org. Please include the article URL, the incorrect information, and the correct information with source. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Correction Process

Our editorial team reviews every report. If the error is confirmed, we update the article and append a correction notice at the top or bottom clearly stating the original error, the correction, and the date. For serious errors, we may also issue a separate correction article linked from the original.

Public Record of Corrections

All corrections are logged on this page with the date, article title, and nature of the correction. This log is maintained for at least two years to ensure full transparency.

When We Do Not Correct

Opinions, subjective assessments, or statements made by subjects themselves are not corrected unless they later deny or disavow them with credible evidence. We will, however, add context or updates.

Timeline & Implementation

Upon confirmation of an error, we commit to updating the article and adding a correction notice within 24 hours. For critical errors (e.g., health, safety, legal matters), we aim to correct within 4 hours. The correction notice includes the original error, the corrected information, and the date of change. The updated article is also reflected in our public corrections log.

Corrections in Multilingual Content

As Virepedia serves a multilingual audience, corrections to articles in any language are applied to the original English version first, then translated into all other language versions. Each localized article carries a clear note linking to the correction notice in the source language.

Appeals & Escalation

If a reader believes our correction or refusal to correct is unjustified, they may escalate to the editorial team via editorial@virepedia.org or to the publisher, Moody Media AB, at legal@virepedia.org. Appeals are reviewed by a senior editor not involved in the original decision. See our Editorial Policy for standards governing corrections.
